Your Online Store Should Provide 3 Important Things:
* informative content on the web
* very competitive pricing
* and exceptional service.
In other words be prepared to :
* Dazzle your customers with exciting presentation
* back it up with information they can use
* and prices they can depend on to be competitive.
Make your products easy to find on search engines and use search engine advertising effectively.
Always ask yourself, “how would I search for this product online?”. What sort of terms would you put in when you are searching.
Build your product label, descriptions, and purchase your advertising accordingly.
Keep the shopping experience simple.
Your efforts and advertising dollar are wasted if the customer finds the product but has to give a detailed summary of their life to find out what the final cost will be, including shipping and taxes.
The only thing you really need is a zip code, or Postal Code (in Canada) ..
so that is all you should ask for.
Businesses are frequently asking questions like “why do my shoppers abandon my cart?”.
It is simple, shoppers want to know the COMPLETE cost and when the site blocks them from that answer …
they tend to move on.
Give your customers what they want.
It is important to have a large visible button ( orange seems to be the color of choice) that says “Add to Cart” on your Item Description page.
Do Not have a bunch of unnecessary information that customers don’t need and make sure that you don’t hide the “Add to Cart” button.
Present the product image(s) and the button descriptions. This page is not the place to put a forum link or other distracting links that can prevent someone from the focus of buying your product.
Give them minimal options: basically you want them to Buy or leave ( not go off to another site through a link on your store.
Customers will not navigate through page after page of garbage to find a price.
Look at Amazon, they put a search bar at the top, hot items, and a category list.
Keep it simple. The purpose of your Store site is not to be a social networking site.
It is a store. People go to stores to buy things and your store should do just that.
If you own a brick and mortar business, continue your brand online with your brand at your store.
Have a graphic artist create a small image on your main homepage so that visitors recognize your store Online as a part of your Offline store. Don’t make your visitors have to work to make the connection of your Online and Offline businesses and always cross promote the two.
1. When designing your Online Store avoid the Template pitfall.
Having 250 templates or 1500 templates to choose from and wasting valuable time playing with your templates moving pictures or graphics around DOES NOT make YOUR online store any MONEY.

1. Get Your Store designed and uploaded with your products online
2. Make sure Your Store is easy for visitors to find by promoting
3. And make sure purchasing from Your Online Store is super easy
Those are the answers.
