After you begin to achieve high rankings for multiple keywords and your blog starts building credibility with Google and the other search engines, you can begin to target keywords that are a little more competitive.
Of course, you also need to pick keywords that are relevant to your blog. If you’re writing a post about picking relevant keywords, it won’t help you at all to be ranked for “how to set up a blog”.
